Short Films You Must See: Lumiere Film (David Lynch, 1995)

For all of the Lynch fans who contribute to this site, can you believe this is the first post we have ever had about the man? I was shocked to discover that as I looked through our tags and realized he had never come up. That will all change this week. Lynch turns 62 on Tuesday, so, throughout the week, I'll try and come up with some short post on him and his films. Better late than never, right? For now, enjoy his 1995 Lumiere short. It might be only a minute long, but that doesn't hold it back from some form of greatness.

Can't wait to read more on Lynch, the filmmaker I get most excited about.

Hope one of you guys cover The Lime Green Set, as it contains some of the only things I've never had the fortune to see (deleted footage from Wild at Heart).

The Lumiere short is a nice taste to whet our appetites with. Great start.

Thanks for the comment, Tony. I don't know if any of us have the Lime Green Set, but I'm dying to see the WILD AT HEART deleted scenes. It's not my favorite film of his, but its certainly a very good and extremely fascinating one.

I'm hoping to have at least a few posts this week on him (as well as some other reviews that have been put off for too long!) I started posting this for the series and then remembered it was his birthday week. Figured we might as well have a week long birthday party since I was so shocked we hadn't written anything on him yet. So much to say and so little time!

It really is absurd(a) that none of us has ever written about him on here, especially if any of our readers know us personally. I don't think it's an exaggeration to say that Lynch is the strongest common bond between all of the writers for OUT 1.

Ha! Oh, Brandon. You and your wit...

This week's been a long time coming.

You know you like that wit, baby.

Hey, don't blame me--I'm new here.

I'm looking forward to what everyone has to say about Lynch this week.

Damn you guys, picking my busiest week to do a Lynch fest...I will be back with comments over the next few days (old threads on the blogosphere never die, nor do they fade away, at least when I'm around...)
