Yes, this pretty intriguing piece helps me understand the film.

Thanks guys. Glad you liked it. There is, of course, more to say about the film than this short piece says, but I felt like working with the film's own devices for the writing of the piece. There are a couple reasons its so short (gimmicky reasons, perhaps) but I'll see if anyone can figure it out. :) Tricky, tricky!

Thanks again for the kind words. Have both of you seen the film? Even with its brevity, I do hope this helps people understand and appreciate the film, or at least know why I do.

Hey James,

Sorry about that, damn blogger! What's the point of scheduling a post when it does that?

It's all sorted now at Film for the Soul and you know how I feel about this excellent post. Thanks for the great contribution and sorry I couldn't sort it earlier.

Ibetolis- No biggie! Sometimes Blogger is a little bit dumb. Thanks so much for the support of this piece and the inclusion of it in your project. Glad to be a part of it!

Great work, James.

I always love a nice intertwining of formalism in any analysis.

I clearly need to see this movie again.

Brandon- Thanks so much. Thought you might enjoy this!

Jacob- Indeed you do. I found it even more profound this second time around, and the way it adds filmmaking into the equation of the other great arts of the centuries is so subtle and magisterial. Just amazing.
