So many goals, so little know-how.Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3634886419866749682.post-84413975167973813102007-12-12T14:52:00.000-05:002007-12-12T14:52:00.000-05:00I've only seen 309 of those 1,001. He's one of the few (if not the only) directors to have two movies nominated for best picture in the same year (Capra and Wilder have probably done it, too). But Godfather II and Apocalypse Now are both sufficient to blow your mind.

A hearty recommendation to everyone: You should check out 1001 Movies You Must See Before You Die by Steven Jay Schneider. I think I've seen somewhere around 600 of them. Quite a few to go.Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3634886419866749682.post-57847323823266762512007-12-11T13:47:00.000-05:002007-12-11T13:47:00.000-05:00I've been working on not having to be ashamed of n...I've been working on not having to be ashamed of not seeing some stuff, but I am still missing a few. Some of which I care about, some I don't. He's seen way too many movies (and by that I only mean, more than me).

I'm by far the worst on this list.
And I am ashamed.

-No pre 90's Altman
-No Cassevettes
-Only half of Broken Flowers, beyond that no Jarmusch
-No Leone.
-Only the first Godfather, Jack, and The Outsiders. Other than that no Francis Ford Coppola (I think that means I haven't seen apocalypse Now and The Godfather II)
- The. List. Goes. I'm sure there are others, but having worked through multiple lists (AFI, AMPAS best pics, and Facets') has knocked out most of the "must-see" movies for me.Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3634886419866749682.post-23158550947129117512007-12-11T00:30:00.000-05:002007-12-11T00:30:00.000-05:00Yes, Aunt Doo, I've seen "The Sound of Music."Yes, Aunt Doo, I've seen "The Sound of Music."Brandon Colvinhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/02373364966092756041noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3634886419866749682.post-29113920610752324922007-12-10T23:12:00.000-05:002007-12-10T23:12:00.000-05:00I meant all-time favorite.I meant all-time favorite.Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3634886419866749682.post-59433467443704246092007-12-10T23:08:00.000-05:002007-12-10T23:08:00.000-05:00Brandon,Tell me you've seen the "Sound of Music". ...Brandon,
Tell me you've seen the "Sound of Music".
