Its really outstanding. JPL is a good comparison (and I'm with you on THE DREAMERS), although Garrel rarely shows that same manic energy that JPL does. Garrel is IT as far as new movies about France in the 60s go.James Hansenhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/09650436008918093617noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3634886419866749682.post-77523994235788466442009-03-08T01:53:00.000-05:002009-03-08T01:53:00.000-05:00(i.e. Pitt and Green seem like they're trying whil...(i.e. Pitt and Green seem like they're trying while Garrel seems like the reincarnation of Jean-Pierre Leaud or something...yes, I know Leaud's still alive - though it was a bad, and kind of sad, idea to have him play himself in the protest scenes of said movie...)Joel Bockohttps://www.blogger.com/profile/11238338958380683893noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3634886419866749682.post-89668741341998617992009-03-08T01:52:00.000-05:002009-03-08T01:52:00.000-05:00I want to see this, in large part because I'm fasc...I want to see this, in large part because I'm fascinated with May '68. I'm pilfering from another critic here (can't remember who), but Garrel's son is the only one who seems like an authentic, plucked from the late 60s, French cinephile/radical in The Dreamers. How is he in Regular Lovers?Joel Bockohttps://www.blogger.com/profile/11238338958380683893noreply@blogger.com
